I’ve just had my smear test with Debbie. I just wanted to say that she is doing an exceptional job. Puts you at ease from the word go. Quickest easiest smear I’ve had. She was a delight! In 3 years time I’m requesting her. Thank you Debbie

It was raining and had to wait outside before entering, but not a lot can be done about that, completely understand it has to be like that at the moment

Unfortunately some of the older receptionists are far from good. Rude, unhelpful and extremely patronising. After reading some of Longcroft’s reviews I’m glad I’m not alone but surprised these people are still employed in care. Certain receptionists are letting down the Doctors (who are doing a great job in difficult times) and giving the surgery a bad reputation. The nurse I saw was equally as bad, she couldn’t care less when I mentioned an elderly man was outside in the cold waiting to see a Doctor. She said “he wasn’t her problem? Employees of the NHS at their wurst!

Suggested improvements
Acknowledge patients when they arrive at the surgery and not ignore them. Have clear instructions outside the surgery during COVID of procedures so patients know what to expect. Have members of staff who have good people skills. Have staff who show empathy when dealing with patients. Have staff speak to patients how they would like to be spoken to.

Difficult to get an appointment, however once I had it, for my smear with Debbie, it was the quickest, easiest most comfortable smear test I have ever had. I didn't even think she had started and realised she had finished. Normally they are timely and very uncomfortable. Debbie is an absolute pro!

This is a note of appreciation for Olivia in Admin. My wife and I were having difficulty in sending photos by (newly-acquired and unfamiliar) mobile phone to one of the doctors, and Olivia talked us through the whole process. She was endlessly patient and very helpful, and we wouldn't want it to go unnoticed. One of the receptionists - sorry, didn't get a name - also went to a lot of trouble to change our contact details. All this went far beyond the call of duty, and hats off all round to the non-medical staff.
